Practicum in Family and Child Science

(female voice) This practicum in family and child sciences is designed to provide students with experience in a community setting serving children from birth through adolescence.

This practicum is an opportunity for you to apply class materials with the work environment of child and family services as well as develop basic intervention techniques. So what marketable skills are you going to take away from this course?

The bulk of the work is the 150 volunteer hours. In addition to experience in the field, you'll be participating in group and individual chats, recording video presentations, and posting to the discussion board.

Be prepared to devote at least three hours a week to completing assignments.

You're going to be working with exceptional faculty who also teach face-to-face courses at the Florida State University College of Human Sciences – these are instructors who are published and noted for their accomplishments in and out of the classroom. The best part for you is that it's online; you don't need to drastically change your schedule to learn from the industry's top professionals. At FSU, online does not mean on your own.

See you in class.
