Conduct of Investigation

(male voice) What does it take to catch a criminal? Turns out, there’s a little more to it than what’s in the movies, and it’s not as easy as going on a hunch and finding the culprit. An investigation calls upon a vast array of practices to ensure its success, including excellent communication and honed critical thinking skills. This course complements the material covered in the course CJE4611 - Theory and Practice of Criminal Investigations. This web based curriculum challenges students to learn the practice of applying investigative procedures within legal constraints. Furthermore, it covers a variety of crime-specific investigative procedures and the appropriate methods of producing legal proof and articulating its reliability.
