Student assessment may take place online within Canvas, via proctored exams at an external site outside Tallahassee, or physically on campus at the Testing Center or OAS/SDRC. FSU's Assessment & Testing main campus facility provides a secure testing environment for a variety of examinations, and serves FSU courses whose classroom environments are not conducive to adequate testing. We also make arrangements for remote proctoring of exams. See Frequently Asked Questions on Proctored Exams for more general information, then select an appropriate item from the links below or menu at left.

FSU instructors are required to notify students of proctored exam requirements by the first day of the semester, and must also provide direction to the proper resource for making proctor arrangements within the course syllabus. Requirements for a Successful Proctored Testing Experience describes student responsibilities for selecting a proctor and registering for exams, while Testing Center Rules describes the policies in effect in the main campus Testing Center. Students will have a smoother and less stressful examination if they know what to expect.
