Services and Support

FSU's online students have access to the same resources as campus-based students as well as several specialized services to make learning online more convenient to those seeking degrees at a distance.

Academic Center for Excellence

Assists undergraduate students on time management, organization, and study skills.

FSU ODL Technical Support

The Help tab within Canvas (fsu.instructure.com) provides resources, guides, and technical support contact information for students and instructors. Or, simply go to canvas.campus.fsu.edu/home.

The Career Center

Provides comprehensive career advising, counseling, and career services to students, alumni, employers, and other members of the FSU community. A dedicated Distance Learner page offers online students a quick snapshot of services available to them including Skype and phone mock interviews, resume reviews, and virtual career fairs.

FSU Bookstore

In addition to E-books for selected courses, the CafeScribe digital textbook option allows note sharing, highlighting, bookmarking and digital searches to create customized study guides and a text-to-speech feature for listening to narrated text. The technology tab within the bookstore offers hardware solutions with special pricing for FSU students and employees.

FSU Card Banking Services

Free banking services and access to a variety of services at ATMs and from select merchants. Students can transfer financial aid, pay tuition and other University related fees, pay for goods and services, and even write an unlimited number of checks. Distance learners can open the SunTrust Account without ever visiting campus.

FSU Libraries

All library services at FSU are available to the distance learning community. Visit the Distance Learning Page on the Florida State’s Library website for up-to-date information on Library access and services. View promotional video.

Health Compliance and Insurance

Distance learning students are not required to show proof of health insurance.

Information Technology Services

Technology essentials for getting started, establishing an FSUID, support for webmail and all services on the myFSU website campus.fsu.edu. Call 850-644-4357.

Lynda.com Technology Training

Information Technology Services (ITS) is proud to provide access to online software training through lynda.com - offering over 1,500 software courses and 81,000 tutorials - to all faculty, staff, and students of Florida State University. This partnership was created to encourage Florida State University employees and students to broaden their skills as technology evolves. Users can log in via Secure Apps in myFSU using their active FSUID and password.
Questions and requests for assistance can be submitted via the FSU Service Center and use either the "Service Center Login" or the "Service Center Email" to submit a Case. If you have any questions or if you need further assistance, please call our office at 850-644-4357 (644-HELP), Monday-Friday, 8am-6pm (EST).

@myFSU

A Microsoft hosting solution that provides a 10GB lifetime E-mail account, 7GB of free cloud-based file storage, online computer backup and synchronization, and access to Microsoft Office web applications.

myFSU Portal

Web-based gateway that gives FSU students, faculty and staff a single point of access to important online tools and information systems at FSU and delivers a dashboard of personalized content to each user.

Online Programs Support

Academic program specialist lend support from the prospective student's initial inquiry through their final semester in an online degree program. Call 850-644-4635 and ask for a program specialist.

Proctored Testing Support

Procedures and guidelines for students whose instructors have opted for proctored testing to assess student progress in online courses. Call 850-644-3017.

Reading-Writing Center

One-on-one reading and writing tutorial services support all FSU students by both graduate and undergraduate English majors. Distance students should select the schedule Virtual RWC: Distance Learning Students Only.

Student Disability Resource Center

Assures course content compliance for students registered with the Center to create an accessible and inclusive learning environment whether on campus or online.

Veteran's Affairs

Assists veterans or their dependents with the application and certification process. Students who are eligible for the Montgomery GI Bill under Chapter 30, 31, 32, 33, 35, 1606, 1607, or VEAP are able to apply for their respective educational benefits with assistance from this office. Virtual Computer Lab

Allows 24/7 remote access to most campus computer lab software via computer or iDevice.
