Services and Support

FSU's online students have access to the same resources as campus-based students, as well as specialized services to make learning online more convenient for those seeking degrees at a distance.

Academic Center for Excellence

A learning center that helps undergraduate students with time management, organization, and study skills.


FSU's web-based learning management system where students can access both in-person and online courses.

Canvas Support Center

Support documentation, video tutorials, and resources for Canvas. Contact ODL Technical Support at 850-644-8004 or for assistance. Students can also access the Canvas Support Center via the Help tab in Canvas.

The Career Center

Career advising, counseling, and services for students, alumni, employers, and other members of the FSU community. Services for online students include mock interviews, resume reviews, and virtual career fairs.

FSU Bookstore

Online bookstore where students can buy or rent physical or digital textbooks. The bookstore also sells technology devices at special prices for FSU students and employees.

FSU Identity Management

Personal information located in a student's FSU account, which students can update.

FSU Libraries

Library services for all students. Visit the distance learning page and view this promotional video for more information.

FSU Service Center

Technology essentials such as the creation of an FSUID, support for webmail, and help with Submit a case online via email or myFSU login, or call ITS support at 850-644-4357.

FSU Card Center

The place where students obtain an FSUCard, as well as pay fees, register for parking permits, and sign up for a meal plan. FSU offers a free SunTrust checking account, which students can link with their FSUCard.

Health Compliance and Insurance FAQs

Information about insurance requirements. In-person students are required to have health insurance, but distance learning students are not required to show proof of insurance. Training

A portal that allows students to access the course catalog, register and pay for classes, access Canvas and FSU webmail, view unofficial transcripts, and order official transcripts.

OneDrive Online Storage

Microsoft-hosted 5TB of free cloud-based file storage and system backup.

Online Programs Support

Support for students from the first inquiry through the final semester of an online degree program. Contact an academic program specialist or call 850-644-4635 for assistance.

Proctored Testing Support

Procedures and guidelines for students whose instructors have opted for proctored testing in an online course. Call 850-644-3017 for more information.

Reading-Writing Center

One-on-one reading and writing tutorial services to all FSU students, offered by graduate and undergraduate English majors. Distance students should select the RWC: Online link on the left menu.

Student Disability Resource Center

Advocate for FSU students with disabilities. SDRC services for registered students include academic accommodations, testing support, assistive technologies, and coaching.

University Events Calendar

A list of events that students can filter by location, type, and department.

Veterans Affairs

Assistance with the application and certification process for veterans or their dependents. See more on VA benefits and distance learning at FSU.

Virtual Computer Lab

24/7 remote access to most campus computer lab software via computer or iDevice.


A student's email inbox, which provides 50GB of email storage and access to Microsoft's cloud-based calendars and Office web applications. Students can access email on the go by syncing it with their phone’s mail client.
