The Public Safety and Security degree integrates practical exercises with theoretical principles to provide students with the knowledge, skills, and abilities required by a variety of jobs in law enforcement, security, intelligence services and investigative agencies. The guiding perspective of public safety as an operational spectrum is prevention to response to investigation, connected by a network of intelligence and facilitated by an over-arching management system.

Asynchronous distance learning courses.


An undergraduate degree in public safety and security offers broad preparation for positions in law enforcement, public and private security, Department of Homeland Security agencies, the intelligence services, community and residential corrections, court services, probation and parole, and may serve as a foundation for law school or graduate school.


The cost of this program is equal to tuition and fees for the Academic Year 2018-19 as stated on the Student Business Services website, plus a per credit hour distance learning fee. Out-of-state students may contact Banyon Pelham to determine if they qualify for a discounted tuition rate. For further questions regarding tuition and fees, please contact the department.
