FSU’s online program in Counseling and Human Systems, with a major in School Counseling, prepares the next generation of counselors to serve the diverse needs of K-12 students. With particular attention given to students’ racial, cultural, and economic backgrounds, our counselors make a difference. Preservice school counselors learn to create, implement, and evaluate comprehensive school counseling programs that advance academic achievement strategies, college and career readiness, and social and emotional development. Counselors gain experience working with families and community stakeholders and learn how to use data to identify student needs. Graduates of the program will earn both a master’s and a specialist degree.
